The seat was developed for business class passengers on long-haul flights. Besides providing ample privacy and storage space, the seat also permits various positions that can be accessed and individually adjusted via a console. It can also be transformed into a flat surface that is a full 1.98 metres long, despite a seat pitch of just 1.06 metres. As a result, it brings first-class comfort to business class while ensuring maximum space efficiency. Thanks to the short distances between individual seats, the business cabin of a long-haul jet can accommodate around 30 of them. Weighing in at 85 kilograms, the seat is the lightest of its kind; what’s more, it can perform its own diagnostic check and is designed for wireless maintenance. An app enables passengers to save their preferred settings for the lighting and seat position.

Again and again, aircraft seats demonstrate that it’s possible to create very comfortable, userfriendly and compellingly designed solutions despite the strict requirements governing their weight or size. This long-haul seat is a particularly convincing example.
