The 1925 New Objectivity exhibition at the Kunsthalle Mannheim was a landmark event that would define the artistic styles of an entire era. A hundred years later, the museum is once again dedicating itself to this artistic and cultural phenomenon, as well as paying tribute to the presentation by the Kunsthalle director Gustav F. Hartlaub, scrutinising his work, and supplementing it with pieces by female artists. The current exhibition references the historic presentation through elements such as the exhibition architecture and a headline font inspired by the original exhibition poster. The immersive installation reconstructs the room's original layout, allowing visitors to confront the issue of the many artworks that were lost or destroyed during the Nazi "Degenerate Art" campaign.

JURY STATEMENT
By combining classic typographic elements from the period of the exhibits with modern formats, the exhibition has achieved a coherent overall design. The exhibition's thoughtful lighting brings the art to the forefront, intentionally offering emotional touchpoints.
