The homeowner may be on the balcony, in the basement workshop, or using a noisy kitchen appliance. This smart home application solves the problem without the need for structural changes or complicated setup. Simply plug the device into an outlet near the doorbell. It recognises the sound of the doorbell and will send an alert to your smartphone or other IoT devices as soon as the doorbell rings. The enhanced version of this patent-pending system can also recognise other acoustic signatures, too, such as smoke detectors. The application is also a valuable tool for people with hearing impairments.
