This material is designed to evoke the look of a classic terrazzo floor, but instead of natural stone aggregates, it contains recycled beech wood fragments and marble particles. A bio-based binder not only binds the materials together but also prevents cracking, making it highly durable. The material is applied using a moulding process, then sanded and polished several times once it has hardened. The result is a soft, velvety, seamless, easy-care surface. Thanks to the material's special formulation, its ecological footprint is smaller than that of conventional poured floors.
JURY STATEMENT
Combining mineral and organic components, this material offers a unique visual appearance and a distinct, natural feel. The embedded wood particles create a look that is both vibrant and understated. The use of ecologically sound raw materials is a significant benefit.
