Our homes are becoming increasingly digital. We're adopting more and more internet-enabled devices like smart lighting, climate control and robot vacuum cleaners, all of which can be connected to a standardised system and conveniently controlled online. This wireless rocker switch is easy to use, even for children and older people, and can be assigned a variety of smart home functions. It's battery-free – simply pressing the switch generates the energy needed for radio transmission – and made from recycled polystyrene waste. Its standard dimensions allow for flush-mounting in both new and existing locations.
JURY STATEMENT
Clearly defined edges and precise surfaces lend it an almost architectural character that conveys exceptional precision. The surface finishes, derived directly from the material, are also very interesting, as is the flush-mounted wall socket.
