Driven by electrification, the bike sector is in the midst of radical change – as is apparent from the growing tendency to integrate components that have hitherto been treated as add-ons. In particular, lights are increasingly becoming an integral part of the bike and turning into components within the system.
The combined tail and brake light for power-assisted bicycles is a good example of this technology leap: it interlocks inseparably with the pannier rack. At the same time, the fact that the wiring is routed through the pannier rack reduces the lighting system’s latent vulnerability to defects resulting from broken cables. 60 LEDs ensure the cyclist will be seen from any angle. The extremely bright brake light is located under the dark, translucent surface within the frame of the light. It goes without saying that the rear light has been approved as road-legal under German road traffic licensing regulations.

A very aesthetic and elegant solution for a vitally important bicycle component that is nevertheless often neglected by designers. Its structural and functional connection with the pannier rack increases both the robustness and the practical value of the lighting system. In addition, the design marks a shift away from the usual dot of light and towards a more planar look.
