The new high-performance screw is the result of an interdisciplinary development process that involved mechanical and wood construction engineers as well as the producer. Designed for wood-wood, wood-metal and in-plug connections, all the features of the different areas were harmonised to ensure maximum overall performance for professional users. The tip is optimised for a quick bite and the head countersinks itself thanks to its double cone geometry. Despite the different lengths, diameters and screw head types, the design principle is identical throughout the entire series of professional fixings, making the screw immediately recognisable.

Jury
The chipboard screw demonstrates that design-centric development can result in new qualities, even in the case of products that seem purely technical. As compared to similar types of screw, it delivers key improvements for the user – and visualises them as well.
