The massive machine plays an important role in the context of paper recycling: inside it, the raw paper is ground and its fibre structure roughened for further processing. Because the machine works in a dirt-intense environment, all the cabling and electronic components are integrated into the housing. Smooth surfaces and soft forms simplify cleaning.
The distinctive conical front section protects the complex control sensors and also incorporates the SmartLight – a newly developed status indicator that uses coloured segments to communicate operating modes or maintenance requirements, even over considerable distances. In addition, the machine conveys the visual identity of its manufacturer.
JURY
The machine has been conceived in a very direct way without the use of additive panelling. As a result, the design reveals its imposing construction, which in turn signifies a high degree of reliability. The round, segmented status display positioned around the central axle of the machine is a particularly interesting feature.
