The State of Baden-Württemberg’s “Celt Concept” aims to encourage the public to reflect on the region’s Celtic heritage. Among the measures was an extensive special exhibition presenting Celtic life, including its pantheon, worship of ancestors and sacred places. The show at the State Archaeological Museum in Constance stages all these aspects in a multimedia encounter that envelops visitors in its atmosphere and conveys the topic by means of installations. In doing so, it succeeds in making the mythical side of Celtic worhship palpable as well, using light scenographies and media stations to create an immersive experience.

This excursion into ancient times is particularly fascinating because it uses atmosphere as a medium for bringing history to life. A very successful presentation of what initially seems like a very dry topic: the integration of multimedia elements is just as compelling as the targeted use of light.
